Our customer specializes in the production of automotive equipment. Ensuring precise assembly is critical for their automotive producers, particularly in storing tightening data within their database. Previously, they relied on simple clutch tools, which didn’t require data storage. However, as components became more complex with self-threading joints where rework was not possible, they sought our assistance.
We conducted various on-site and in-house tests to determine the optimal tightening procedure. This procedure involves multiple stages to ensure proper tightening. Given that rework on joints isn’t feasible, it was crucial to verify that each joint was correctly tightened.
Each product is equipped with a serial number and barcode. To meet this requirement cost-effectively, we developed a barcode scanner holder with its own internal battery. The scanner is connected to the tightening system controller, linking the tightening data with the product’s serial number.
This comprehensive solution ensures that all bolts are securely tightened and the data is stored in their MES system. We are proud to have enabled our client to run their production smoothly without any issues. The client is delighted with this cost-effective solution.
